Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use this site, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification or captions. Our goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

What we do

• We check pages with an automated accessibility tool (axe-core) before changes go live, and fix what it finds.
• Text and buttons are sized and colored to meet WCAG contrast levels, in light and dark mode.
• Every page works with a keyboard, has a "Skip to content" link, and uses headings in order.
• Animations stop if your device is set to reduce motion.
• Calculators and worksheets label every field, and results are announced to screen readers.

Known limits

Automated tools can't catch everything, and we haven't had an outside accessibility audit. Some linked outside sources, such as government websites, are outside our control.
